Coastal Line
Running along Sri Lanka's stunning southwestern coastline from Colombo to Matara (and now extended to Beliatta), this 159 km line hugs the Indian Ocean for much of its journey. Pass through popular beach destinations like Hikkaduwa, Galle, and Unawatuna. The line was built in the 1890s and offers spectacular ocean views, especially at sunset.
